Ordinance 649-AC
- Adopted by the City Council on April 26, 2022.
- Established a permit procedure for short-term residential use.
Owners may only use a permitted structure as a short-term residential rental if:
- They possess a current, valid short-term rental permit.
- They hold a business license.
- They are in compliance with the Municipal Code.
Measure N
- Approved by Needles residents on November 8, 2022.
- Adds a 10% Transient Occupancy Tax to operators of short-term residential units/properties.
The tax:
- Will be charged to guests’ bills.
- Went into effect starting December 24, 2022.
- Must be collected and paid to the City by the rental property owners.
- Transient Occupancy Tax Remittance and Exemption Form
- Owners and renters must comply with Ordinance 649-AC.
- Subject to enforcement under:
- Chapter 2A of the Municipal Code.
- Other applicable remedies under the Municipal Code or law.
