Each winter, our seasonal guests flock here to escape the snow, enjoying a break from shoveling and scraping off their cars—because here, there’s no snow! During this time, RV parks fill up quickly, so it’s best to book your spot early for a stay in the West. 

Our winters are incredibly mild, often requiring just a long-sleeved shirt and a light jacket. Many locals wear shorts from October through March—just take a look at our golf course. On warmer days, you’ll even find people enjoying the outdoors during the holidays in November and December. 

Summers are hot – perfect for playing by the river. It’s often called a “dry heat,” like the rush of heat when you open your oven door. To beat the heat, many businesses in the area open early or stay open late, giving you the chance to shop and explore before or after the sun sets.
