There is a limit of 4 pets per household, unless permission is granted from animal control. With the current economic challenges, it’s crucial to avoid the risk of being cited for an unlicensed dog, which could result in unnecessary costs, fines, and time lost. Every dog within city limits must be vaccinated for rabies and have a valid dog license.
City dog licenses are renewed annually on the date of purchase. We’re working on a new program that will send out reminders to licensed pet owners each year, making it easier to stay compliant.
Renewal letters are sent to residents 2 months in advance before expiration.
Not only does the dog license provide essential funding to keep our shelter open, but it also helps us quickly identify your pet if they ever become lost and end up at the shelter. Additionally, having a current license can save you money on impound fees and potential fines for violations.
