The Public Works Department is responsible for a variety of essential services, including street maintenance and repair, transportation and building upkeep. You’ll often see our crews working around town on tasks like painting traffic legends, handling flood control, setting up for road closures, and repairing asphalt roads, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
On Fridays, the street sweeper typically makes its rounds along the downtown corridor. Public Works is also in charge of maintaining the City’s right-of-ways, which includes weeding to keep everything looking neat and tidy.

The City of Needles boasts approximately 40 acres of parkland (excluding the Municipal Golf Course).
